Business Intelligence for General Users

Business intelligence (BI) refers to the skills, technologies, applications and practices for gathering and analyzing data to help a business better understand its performance and make better business decisions.

In this course, participants will learn what Business Intelligence is about and how to make Business Intelligence applicable to their organizations. Participants will use common desktop applications (e.g. Microsoft Excel) and some server technologies (e.g., Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008) to implement Business Intelligence, including report optimization and automation, data warehousing, multidimensional analysis and data mining.

Prerequisites: Kowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic concepts of database management.
