Course Description

Autodesk AutoCAD is the industry standard tool for ACE (Architectural, Constructional and Engineering) computer-aided designs. Proficiency in AutoCAD is pivotal in career development for those working in relevant fields.

This course gives a comprehensive coverage on AutoCADˇ¦s powerful features and ample opportunity for hands-on practice. Learning is based on the highly acclaimed Autodesk official learning framework and Autodesk AutoCAD 2014 software.

The course aims at effective learning to produce results in the least possible time and is centred around AutoCAD commands and techniques, covering 2D drafting, layout plan creation, output, and 3D modeling techniques. Participants will be able to apply practical skills learnt to their design work on course completion. They will receive the course diploma and also a certificate endorsed by Autodesk after satisfying attendance and assignment requirements.

On completion of this course, you will be able to:

  • describe and use the AutoCAD drawing commands

  • produce 2D and 3D drawings for a wide range of uses

  • edit existing AutoCAD drawings.

Course Prerequisites

Applicants should be computer-literate with a sound working knowledge of the Windows operating systems. Previous knowledge of AutoCAD is not necessary.

Course Content

The programme consists of the following three modules. AutoCAD 2014 will be used during hands-on practice.
Module I: Basic AutoCAD (18 hours)
Module II: Intermediate AutoCAD (15 hours)
Module III: 3D Modeling in AutoCAD (15 hours)

Title of Award and Assessment Methods

Each module includes a practical project; all projects will be assessed according to technical skills, creativity, functionality and aesthetic value. On completion of the assessed modules, the students will be able to construct a portfolio based on their project work. The course diploma will be awarded to the students who pass in all project assessments and produce a satisfactory portfolio.

Application Procedure

  1. Proceed with on-line registration or send the completed enrolment form (download) to Welkin Computer Training, 3/F, Righteous Centre, 585 Nathan Road, Mongkok, Kowloon together with a cheque (made payable to Welkin Compuer Training) for the program fee.

  2. Complete in the CEF Application Form (download) and send it to Office of the Continuing Education Fund,
    Room 916, 9/F, Kwai Hing Government Offices, 166-174 Hing Fong Road, Kwai Chung,
    New Territories, together with a photocopy of your HKID Card before course commencement.

  3. Applicants will receive application results from the Office of the CEF within 14 working days.
